  DIALOGO – ORIENT AND OCCIDENT
  Musical dialogues from Orient and Occident are the theme of this CD. The
  individual songs and pieces of music are not only juxtaposed but often
  interwoven with and into each other, creating a new framework and unity.
  Music from different cultural circles, religions and geographical locations
  combine to form something new and exciting.
  The songs of the Sephardic Jews are a good reflexion of this cultural
  Diversity. Sephardic songs, songs from the Cantigas de Santa Maria, Baroque and oriental music meet together in a lively musical exchange reflected in seven
  themes on this CD.
  La Rosa Enflorece, the blossoming rose, is not only the title of a wellknown
  Sephardic song, but also gave the ensemble its name.
  Almut-Maie Fingerle - soprano, Almut Werner - recorders, Daniel
  Spektor - Baroque violin and Johannes Vogt - theorbo are connected
  through the love of non-mainstream music. Creating their own, mostly
  thematic programs they like to break boundaries but reconnect. They incorporate
  different cultures, musical styles and religions into their music in
  order to create a colorful kaleidoscope with their own arrangements, often
  resulting in a new whole.
  All four musicians are trained in Early Music. All felt the need to think
  outside the box and get a taste of other eras and genres and bring in their
  historical knowledge in order to create their own style.

  DIALOGO – ORIENT UND OKZIDENT
  Musikalische Zwiegespräche von Musik aus Orient und Okzident sind das
  Thema dieser CD. Dabei werden die einzelnen Lieder und Musikstücke nicht
  nur nebeneinandergestellt, sondern oft auch mit- und ineinander verwoben,
  so dass ein neuer Rahmen und eine neue Einheit entstehen. Musik, die
  aus unterschiedlichen Kulturkreisen, Religionen und geografischen Lagen
  stammt, verbindet sich so zu einem neuen, spannenden Ganzen.
  Die Lieder der Sepharden tragen diese kulturelle Vielfalt schon ursprünglich
  in sich. Sephardische Lieder, Lieder aus den Cantigas de Santa Maria, barocke
  Werke und orientalische Musik treten auf dieser CD in sieben Themenschwerpunkten in einen regen musikalischen Austausch.
  
  La Rosa Enflorece, die erblühende Rose, ist nicht nur der Titel eines bekannten
  sephardischen Liedes sondern war auch namensgebend für das Ensemble.
  Almut-Maie Fingerle – Sopran, Almut Werner – Blockflöten, Daniel Spektor
  – Barockgeige und Johannes Vogt – Theorbe verbindet die Liebe zur Musik
  abseits des Mainstreams. Immer wieder kreieren sie eigene, meist thematisch
  gebundene Programme, die gerne Grenzen überschreiten und dabei doch
  verbinden möchten. Sie beziehen in ihre Musik unterschiedliche Kulturen,
  Musikstile und Religionen ein, um mit ihren eigenen Arrangements ein buntes
  Kaleidoskop zu schaffen, das oft ein neues Ganzes ergibt.
  Alle vier MusikerInnen kommen von ihrer Ausbildung her aus dem Bereich der
  Alten Musik. Bei allen erwachte schon früh das Bedürfnis, über diesen Tellerrand
  zu schauen und in andere Zeiten und Genres hineinzuschnuppern und
  ihre historische Informiertheit einzubringen, um einen eigenen Stil zu kreieren.
